Trauma Support at House of Wellness

Trauma can shape how you see the world, how you respond to stress, and how safe you feel in your own body. Whether your trauma was a single event or a series of painful experiences over time, the effects can linger — even when you’ve tried your best to move forward.

At House of Wellness, Dr. Maniar offers trauma-informed care that honors your lived experience without rushing your healing. We understand how trauma affects the nervous system, emotions, memory, and relationships — and we approach treatment with empathy, patience, and respect.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

PTSD can develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event, such as an accident, assault, natural disaster, medical trauma, or combat. People with PTSD often feel stuck in survival mode long after the danger has passed.

Common symptoms include:

Flashbacks or intrusive memories
Nightmares or disrupted sleep
Hypervigilance or exaggerated startle response
Avoidance of reminders of the trauma
Feelings of numbness, anger, or guilt

If your body still reacts like you’re in danger, even when you’re not, you’re not broken — you’re human. PTSD is a natural response to an overwhelming event. With the right support, it can get better.

Complex PTSD (C-PTSD)

C-PTSD results from ongoing or repeated trauma, often in childhood or within relationships where escape wasn’t possible. This might include emotional abuse, neglect, domestic violence, or chronic instability.

C-PTSD may include symptoms of PTSD along with:

Difficulty regulating emotions
Deep shame or persistent self-criticism
Trouble forming or trusting relationships
Dissociation or feeling disconnected from yourself
Chronic sense of being unsafe or on edge

Healing from complex trauma takes time and trust. At House of Wellness, we create a stable, validating space where you can begin to process your story at your own pace.
